Child

Wondering who reached your eyes

you seem

to leave your dream

on your pillow as you rise

gently, not to wake them

Wondering who shone on you

some more

you open the door

forgetting all but hat and shoes

finder of a new day

And look, what a day

just look at the sun

she's the one

shone your dreams away

And the sky and the sea

and the winds they are free

and you know what you see

is your own day

is your own day

Like a King you view your land

with smiles

it's yours for miles

three and hills at your command

you only have to tell them

All is yours and yours to keep

it may seem

it's still a dream

but not like those begot by sleep

you only have to be them

And you found the day

you found the sun

as the one

drove your night away

And your sky and your sea

and your winds they are free

and you know what you see

is your own day

is your own day

My morning child

so sweet, so wild, so alive

that the whole world smiles

For some it may seem

just a hope or a dream

but for you, what you see

is a real day

is a real day

is a real day
